Since 2020, the concept of the word ‘home’ has changed. Previously considered a simple place for a few hours of daily rest, it has become part of every minute of life for those who can choose to do their activities at home, in times of social isolation. The simple shelter has since come to play a central role in our sensory experiences. Despite everything, the pandemic has taught us to reclaim the word ‘home’, with all the most welcoming and cozy things that this little corner of the world has to offer.
We live in a time when we can (and should!) make use of decorative objects and materials that bring us positive feelings, that are good for the body and mind.
And, in addition, the artisanal style carries with it the appreciation of Brazilian artists and artisans and raw materials, including being increasingly present in projects designed by architects, composing beautiful environments with other non-authorial design objects.
It is in this context of unique and exclusive objects that the revival of handcrafted items has been capturing the hearts of handmade lovers, architects and interior designers.
Let's get inspired?...
Highlight sentimental objects!
Objects that tell stories are an attraction in their own right when it comes to decoration. Remember that souvenir you found on a trip and packed with great care, because you were bringing back a little bit of the culture you loved to discover? Or a family object that brings back wonderful emotional memories? Don't hesitate to use them!
If you prefer to rely on the expertise of a professional who will help you create your world in your new home or during renovations, show off your collection of sentimental objects. The project will certainly be able to include them, bringing their essence to the new environment. Now, if you want to decorate in a 'solo' way, my main tip is to choose a few objects to create the composition. A set of colorful or contrasting handcrafted pieces from different cultures on a contemporary sideboard in neutral colors adds a touch of worldliness and color to your space, while maintaining a touch of sophistication. For those who have a lot of personal objects and don't know which ones to use in their decor, how about rotating them? From time to time, bring out the ones you've stored away and you'll always be renewing your space!

Some handcrafted techniques that are simply charming!
A technique that is gaining more and more popularity is macramé, which involves working with threads entirely by hand, creating very delicate weaves. It is a perfect combination with plant pots, as well as comfortable hammocks, creative furniture covers and beautiful decorative wall panels. There are several tutorials available on the internet, in case you want to create a macramé of your own!
